  “THE COW MUST COME FIRST”

Our focus for the past 38 years has always been clear. The COW must come first. Our program is committed to producing females that are balanced in all traits, with an emphasis on calving ease at or below breed average and a spread from birth weight to yearling weight of 60 pounds. Not selecting for single traits or getting caught up in the fads that many have.

Our mission has become much easier in recent years because of all the tools that American Simmental Association has given us with EPD’s and the Multiple Breed Evaluation System. As most of you know we have focused for years on producing 3/8 to ¾ Simmentals with an Angus base. “HYBRID” as we believe it, gives us the best of both worlds. We are using the best sires of both the Simmental and Angus gene pool. It is well documented that heterosis is a freebee in the cattle industry, and the British-continental Cross is proven to be the ideal genetic blend in the feedlot and the packing housel. On the maternal side it is proven there is a 35% improvement in pounds weaned per cow exposed through fertility and more longevity in your bulls and females. Now with the multiple breed evaluation system Hybrid genetics can be evaluated as if they were purebreds. We are not in the breed business but in the cattle business...

“THE COW MAKES THE DIFFERENCE.”
